My name is Innara Walker, a young artist originally from Coquitlam, BC, in Canada. Growing up in the vibrant Vancouver area, I was surrounded by the breathtaking natural landscape, with its lush forests, towering mountains, and serene bodies of water. My father, an artist and art teacher in Port Moody, nurtured my early artistic development, allowing me to connect deeply with the environment around me.

My journey as an artist expanded when I moved to Cardiff, Wales, to study architecture. With a long-held fascination for the built environment, my architectural background enriched my artistic practice by providing a unique lens through which I approach both structure and space. My travels to East Africa, Asia, and throughout Europe further influenced my work, where I documented my experiences in sketchbooks. From sketching the boats on Lake Como to capturing a bustling plaza in Madrid or the elegant twirls of two girls in Korean Hanboks, I sought to document the essence of the places and cultures I encountered.

These varied experiences have shaped the focus of my art, which now centers on the interplay between architecture, culture, and heritage. My work seeks to highlight the beauty of cities and the stories they tell through their unique landscapes, structures, and people. I aim to bring attention to the moments that often go unnoticed, whether it’s the symmetry of a building, the vibrancy of local traditions, or the quiet harmony of nature and urban life coexisting.

As I continue to develop my art, I am drawn to exploring the emotional and historical layers of the places I visit, drawing inspiration from both the natural world and the built environment. My journey as an artist is one of continuous exploration, and I am excited to continue uncovering the untold stories embedded in the world around us.
